Dorchester town centre debate: new speaker to warn Bridport meeting
A PUBLIC meeting about West Dorset District Council’s controversial plans to spend £10 million on a new Dorchester HQ is to be addressed by the former leader of Salisbury District Council.
Liberal Democrat councillor Paul Sample has already written on this site about his “White Elephant” experiences in Wiltshire and what he sees as the similar dangers of the plans being advanced by the Conservatives who control West Dorset.
Coun Sample is now to speak on 19 April at a meeting in Bridport Town Hall, organised by the Liberal Democrats’ Parliamentary candidate for West Dorset, Dr Sue Farrant.
Dr Farrant has said that all residents of West Dorset are welcome to attend from 6.30pm – 8pm.
West Dorset District Council leader Robert Gould and the Conservatives’ Parliamentary candidate Oliver Letwin have both been invited.
Coun Gould has previously written on his blog (click here) about the district council’s plans for Dorchester town centre being both cost-effective and “very exciting”.
