Bridport makes room for Alice in Wonderland

BRIDPORT ARTS CENTRE is expanding its activities for families, starting with a production of Alice in Wonderland.

Many families have apparently asked the arts centre about doing things there on a Sunday, and so it’s heading off down the rabbit hole…

Alice in Wonderland, based on Lewis Carroll’s book, will be performed by Uncontained Arts, in conjunction with Buxton Opera House, on Sunday July 4 at 11am and 3pm.

Uncontained Arts is a theatre company made up of graduates from the University of Derby’s Theatre Arts Course, and currently based at the new Derby Theatre.

The company’s production of Alice is on tour across the country, following a successful round last year with a version of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid.

Potential ticket buyers are urged to “expect the unexpected in this delightful and imaginative version of Alice, using physical theatre, puppetry, music, and an explosion of colour to bring to life the original story of Alice’s extraordinary adventures.”

If you’re tempted, tickets cost £6 for children, £8 for adults, £7 for supporters or £24 for a family.
